The ICDO Permanent Secretariat in Geneva

The Permanent Secretariat is the executive body of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO). It is headed by the Secretary-General and supports the implementation of the decisions adopted by the General Assembly and the Executive Council.

The Secretariat ensures the day-to-day functioning of the Organization, coordinates international cooperation activities, and contributes to the development of civil defence capacities among Member States.

Its work includes monitoring and analysis of emergency situations, the organization of training and technical programmes, administrative and financial management, and coordination with regional offices and partners.
