February 7, 2025 – H.E. Ms. Maira Mariela Macdonal Alvarez, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Bolivia, paid an official visit to the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) headquarters to meet with H.E. Mr. Roman Lapin, Acting Secretary-General of ICDO. This visit highlights the commitment of both parties to exploring and expanding cooperation between Bolivia and ICDO.

During the discussions, both sides examined opportunities to strengthen collaboration, including Bolivia’s potential accession as a member state of ICDO. Ambassador Macdonal Alvarez expressed significant interest in establishing an Emergency Management Center in Bolivia, acknowledging ICDO’s extensive expertise in creating and developing such centers globally.

This dialogue marks an important step in reinforcing ties between Bolivia and ICDO, emphasizing a shared commitment to advancing global civil defense mechanisms and strengthening international cooperation in crisis management.
