ICDO Secretary-General and Bahrain’s Permanent Representative Discuss Strengthening Cooperation in Civil Defence and Disaster Risk Management

On September 4, the Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, met with the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla.

The discussions focused on cooperation between the ICDO and the Kingdom of Bahrain, with particular attention to civil defence, disaster preparedness, and risk management. Secretary-General Arguj Kalantarli stressed the importance of enhancing collaboration in these areas and expressed confidence that cooperation with Bahrain would continue to develop on a mutually beneficial basis. H.E. Mr. Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla, in turn, noted Bahrain’s interest in closer engagement with the ICDO and underlined the relevance of international cooperation in strengthening civil defence capacities.

he meeting further provided an opportunity to exchange views on future avenues of cooperation and potential initiatives aimed at reinforcing the role and activities of the ICDO.
