A graduation ceremony was held today for nine participants from seven ICDO Member States — Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Senegal — who successfully completed a specialized training course at the State Fire Academy of the Ministry for Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) of Russia.
Over the course of ten days, participants attended both theoretical and practical sessions led by the Academy’s teaching staff as part of the training program titled “Firefighting in Railway Tunnels and Underground Structures.”
With the support of the Main Directorate of EMERCOM of Russia for the Moscow Region, the trainees practiced rescue operations in a railway tunnel under high-risk conditions for personnel.
During field exercises at the Noginsk Zhukov Rescue Center of EMERCOM of Russia, the instructors demonstrated the specifics of firefighting in underground facilities and techniques for rescuing people and protecting property in such environments.
Participants also became acquainted with the latest equipment and technologies used in Moscow’s fire and rescue units.
The successful completion of the program contributed to strengthening the operational capacities of national emergency services and further developing international cooperation in the field of civil protection.
