Within the framework of the official visit to the Russian Federation, the Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, met with Mr. Alexander Kurenkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current state of cooperation between the ICDO and the competent authorities of the Russian Federation and discussed avenues for further enhancing collaboration, with particular emphasis on civil defence, emergency preparedness, emergency response, and the mitigation of the consequences of emergencies.

On this occasion, the Secretary-General congratulated the Minister on the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry and expressed his appreciation for the invitation to participate in the anniversary events.

The Minister, in his capacity as President of the Executive Council of the ICDO, also addressed the Organization’s recent reform initiatives and operational activities, which were positively noted. The meeting further included an exchange of views on other matters of mutual interest and prospects for future cooperation.
