From Saturday 12 to Sunday 20 October 2019, an International Workshop was organised conjointly by the National Civil Defence and Disaster Management Training Institute – NDTI of South Korea and the ICDO.

The goal of the workshop was to increase overall capacity for the disaster response and management system in ICDO member states and to build capacity of human resources working in disaster management field.

The objectives were to establish systemized disaster management systems by strengthening governance, laws and regulation; To increase capacity for ICDO Member States’ disaster response and management by sharing Korea’s disaster management policies and techniques and to implement an Action Plan to cope effectively with disaster situations in ICDO member states.

The participants were from Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
