Within the framework of his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, the Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, visited the Civil Defence Academy of the UAE Civil Defence on 27 January.
During the visit, a comprehensive presentation was delivered by the Academy, showcasing the advanced facilities and infrastructure established for training and education in various firefighting and rescue operations. The presentation highlighted the Academy’s important role in the preparation of highly qualified specialists and the development of higher education in the field of civil defence.
In this context, a detailed overview was provided of the firefighting and rescue training complex established within the Academy. Discussions focused on the Academy’s activities not only in national training programmes, but also in the training and certification of international specialists.
The discussions further emphasized the Academy’s extensive capabilities in delivering professional training and specialized courses, and underlined the importance of developing and organizing a greater number of joint training programmes and courses in cooperation with the ICDO.
Both sides expressed confidence in the development of future cooperation, including the organization of joint initiatives and trainings, and the strengthening of institutional partnership between the ICDO and the UAE Civil Defence Academy.
