ICDO Secretary-General meets with Director General of Civil Defence of the State of Qatar

The Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, paid an official visit to the State of Qatar. Within the framework of this visit, he met with the Director General of Civil Defence of the State of Qatar, H.E. Major General Hamad Othman Al-Dehaimi, on 29 January.

The meeting focused on further strengthening cooperation between the ICDO and the State of Qatar and on identifying practical directions for collaboration in the field of civil defence. The discussions addressed key aspects of civil protection, emergency preparedness, and response systems, as well as closely related areas of professional engagement.

During the exchange, the Secretary-General drew attention to Qatar Civil Defence’s growing operational capacities in emergency management, noting the relevance of this experience for broader professional cooperation within the ICDO framework. In this context, both sides discussed concrete prospects for deepening cooperation, particularly through the organization of joint trainings, capacity-building activities, and specialized training courses.

The discussions also covered the ICDO’s current strategic priorities and humanitarian activities, including ongoing projects and modernization initiatives.

The meeting concluded with an exchange on additional issues of common interest and a reaffirmation of the shared commitment to maintaining professional dialogue and translating discussions into practical cooperation.
