The Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization, Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, participated in an online coordination meeting between international organizations and the Palestinian Authority on the clearance of mines and explosive remnants of war (ERWs) in the Gaza Strip, on 11 February.

The meeting brought together senior representatives, including the Palestinian MFA and MOI, as well as senior officials from relevant bodies of the United Nations, ICRC, along with other international organizations and partners.

In his statement, the Secretary-General also provided information on the Organization’s humanitarian assistance project for the Gaza and the steps taken toward its implementation, and reaffirmed ICDO’s strong commitment to supporting international initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation in recovery and humanitarian assistance.

During the meeting, participants also discussed the current humanitarian situation and ongoing mine clearance activities in Gaza, and coordination mechanisms aimed at enhancing safety and supporting reconstruction efforts.
