ICDO Secretary-General Meets with the Permanent Representative of Georgia to the UN Office at Geneva

On 18 February, the Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, met with H.E. Mr. Revaz Lominadze, Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, at the ICDO Headquarters.

The meeting focused on further strengthening cooperation between the ICDO and Georgia in the fields of civil defence, disaster risk reduction, and emergency preparedness and response. The parties exchanged views on enhancing reliable and practical collaboration in support of national and regional efforts aimed at reinforcing institutional capacities and resilience to emergencies and disasters.

In this context, the Secretary-General briefed the Ambassador on the Organization’s ongoing activities carried out within the framework of its humanitarian mandate, including institutional reform and modernization actions, as well as recent and forthcoming official engagements designed to further consolidate international partnerships.

The meeting reaffirmed the mutual interest of both sides in deepening dialogue and expanding practical cooperation in pursuit of shared objectives in civil defence, humanitarian action, and disaster management.
