In light of the recent attacks affecting several ICDO Member States, namely Bahrain, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates the International Civil Defence Organization expresses its deep concern and conveys its full solidarity with their governments and peoples.
We extend our sincere sympathy to all those affected by these events and underscore that the protection of civilian populations and essential services must remain an unconditional priority under all circumstances, and that no civilian should ever become a victim of instability or violence.
As an intergovernmental and non-political organization headquartered in Geneva and guided by humanitarian principles, ICDO remains firmly committed to strengthening civil protection and emergency response systems, reaffirming that the protection of civilian life must always remain the foremost priority and that solidarity and professional cooperation are essential to enhancing preparedness, resilience and coordinated response among Member States.
