In light of the recent attacks affecting ICDO Member State, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the International Civil Defence Organization expresses its deep concern and full solidarity with the Government and people of Azerbaijan. As a nation that has played a valuable role in ICDO’s ongoing efforts, particularly through its commitment to strengthening regional civil protection networks, the Organization emphasizes the importance of Azerbaijan’s contributions.
The International Civil Defence Organization extends its sincere sympathy to all those affected by these events and underscores that the protection of civilian populations and essential services must remain an unconditional priority under all circumstances. No civilian should ever become a victim of instability or violence.
As an intergovernmental and non-political organization headquartered in Geneva and guided by humanitarian principles, ICDO remains firmly committed to supporting Member States in strengthening civil protection and emergency response systems, reaffirming that the protection of civilian life and safety must always remain the foremost guiding principle and that solidarity, professional cooperation and coordinated action are essential to enhancing preparedness, resilience and effective response. The Organization also acknowledges the constructive role of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of ICDO and reiterates the importance of continued cooperation in advancing regional and international civil protection efforts.
