On the occasion of 1 March – World Civil Defence Day, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in cooperation with state institutions and its regional centres, organized a series of nationwide events under the theme “Managing Environmental Risks for a Resilient and Sustainable Future.”
The activities aimed to strengthen public awareness and preparedness in the field of civil defence, reinforce attention to individual and public safety, and promote knowledge related to prevention, response and appropriate behaviour during emergencies.
A broad program of initiatives was carried out across the country, including exhibitions, conferences, open lessons, training sessions and practical drills held in educational institutions, industrial and medical facilities, and other public venues. During these events, civil defence equipment and protective tools were demonstrated, and participants received practical guidance on emergency response procedures, first aid, and the use of personal protective equipment.
The program also included inspections and assemblies of civil defence forces in response to warning signals, alongside demonstrations of available civil defence resources and their practical application.
In addition, participants received information about the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), its mission and activities, and cooperation with Member States, including Azerbaijan’s engagement within the Organization.
The events were widely covered via the official website and social media platforms of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as national media outlets.
