On 4 March 2026, the Civil Defence Academy of EMERCOM of Russia hosted the 36th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Prevention. Rescue. Assistance,” dedicated to World Civil Defence Day. The conference brought together over 1,200 participants, including representatives of civil defence and rescue services, as well as academic and research institutions from 14 countries.

Opening the conference, Lieutenant General V. V. Panchenkov, Head of the Academy, emphasized the importance of international cooperation in civil defence and population protection. Participants were shown a video address by the Secretary-General of the ICDO, Mr. Arguj Kalantari, and received greetings from partner academies in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

Discussions took place during the plenary session and across 25 thematic sections, focusing on emergency prevention, the use of modern technologies, international projects, and the improvement of response practices. An exhibition of modern solutions and equipment in the field of civil defence was also organized for participants.
