The Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, heading an ICDO delegation, paid an official visit to the Republic of Serbia. Within the framework of the visit, the Secretary-General visited the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Centre, where he was introduced to the Centre’s operational and training capacities.
The visit included a comprehensive overview of the material and technical infrastructure, as well as guided tours of specialized training facilities and the fire and rescue training ground. Demonstrations of simulation equipment were also presented, alongside ongoing training activities.
During the visit, Mr. Kalantarli was briefed on the Centre’s core activities, including its role in delivering specialized training programmes and capacity-building initiatives in the field of civil defence and emergency management.
Discussions also focused on ongoing activities, while highlighting the importance of the Centre, as an affiliated member of ICDO, in strengthening joint efforts in the preparation of highly qualified specialists. The Centre’s significant capabilities as a regional platform for professional training, logistical coordination, and the implementation of specialized emergency response courses were also noted.
During the meeting, the commitment to deepening long-term cooperation and confidence in the continued development of mutually beneficial collaboration in the field of civil protection were reaffirmed.
