Within the framework of his official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, the Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, heading an ICDO delegation, visited several key facilities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Secretary-General visited the Crisis Management Centre under the Ministry of Emergency Situations, where he was introduced to the operational structure and technical capacities used in managing emergency and crisis situations. He was briefed on the Centre’s functions, including monitoring, coordination, and response mechanisms, as well as the technologies and systems employed in real-time emergency management.
Mr. Kalantarli also visited the State Rescue Training Centre of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, where he observed specialized training activities and practical exercises. During the visit, he was introduced to rescue equipment and training methodologies used in the preparation of rescue personnel.
A demonstration exercise was conducted, showcasing operational response techniques and coordinated rescue actions. The Secretary-General observed the exercise and was briefed on the Centre’s role in strengthening the professional skills and readiness of rescue teams.
The visits highlighted the importance of further strengthening training, modern equipment, and institutional capacity in order to effectively respond to evolving risks and emergency situations.
