On 27 September, the Civil Protection University of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus became a venue for the meeting of the Scientific and Educational Committee of the International Civil Defence Organization.

The meeting of the Scientific and Educational Committee of the International Civil Defence Organization at the University of Civil Protection became an important step in the development of international cooperation in the field of civil defence and training of specialists to work in emergency situations.

The event brought together 26 representatives from four foreign agencies, seven scientific and educational institutions, two humanitarian centers and one international organization each from Russia, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and the UAE. The participants of the meeting summarised the interim results of the activities of the Scientific and Educational Committee of the ICDO for this year. They considered proposals and initiatives for the committee's development. Attention was also paid to new educational programmes for the training of ICDO specialists.
