By the decision of the ICDO Executive Board, an official signing ceremony of the Agreement between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan and the International Civil Defence Organization on the establishment of the International Civil Defence Organization Regional Humanitarian Office for Central Asia and Asia was held on 27 October.

The event was attended by the Minister of Emergency Situations, Major General Boobek Azhikeev, Deputy Secretary General of ICDO Andrey Kudinov, as well as representatives of the IOGO and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The opening of the Regional Humanitarian Office in Bishkek is an important step in strengthening co-operation between ICDO and the countries of Central Asia and Asia. The office will facilitate a more effective response to emergencies in the region by providing quick access to resources and expertise.

The new office will work in partnership with local authorities, other non-governmental organizations, and international institutions to provide comprehensive emergency support to the region. It will focus on training local experts, developing emergency plans, providing humanitarian assistance and coordination actions in times of crisis.

The opening of the IOGO Regional Humanitarian Office in Bishkek is an important step towards strengthening human security in the Central Asian and Asian region. This office will contribute to a stronger and more effective response to emergencies and will help to save lives and ensure the safety of residents.
