From March 4 to 8, 2025, the Acting Secretary-General of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO), Roman Lapin, visited the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center (RSHC). The visit aimed to strengthen cooperation between ICDO and the Center, as well as to discuss prospects for further collaboration.
During the visit, the Acting Secretary-General reviewed the Center's educational and material-technical base, inspected the construction site of the training ground, and held discussions on expanding partnerships. One of the key topics was the development of joint educational programs and training courses for civil defense specialists.
It is worth noting that the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center has been an affiliated member of ICDO since 2015. Since 2018, it has served as a regional logistics and training center for ICDO, providing a platform for training and professional development of civil protection personnel. The Center regularly conducts training courses not only for firefighters and rescuers of the Emergency Situations Sector of the Serbian Ministry of Interior but also for specialists from other ICDO member states.
The visit of the Acting Secretary-General of ICDO underscores the importance of further developing international cooperation in civil defense and emergency response training. The initiatives discussed will enhance collaboration between countries and improve preparedness for emergency situations
