On April 8, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the Vice President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) and Acting Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Roman Lapin, opened the Workshop on Security and Protection of Trains and Railway Networks.
The workshop aims to highlight contemporary security challenges affecting railways, including risk and threat analysis, preventive measures, and mitigation strategies. Participants will discuss advanced techniques for predicting and preventing railway security threats, modern methods for protecting stations and trains, and mechanisms for rapid emergency response.
Acting Secretary-General R. Lapin emphasized the significance of enhancing cooperation between local authorities, transport companies, and security agencies, stressing the importance of international collaboration and knowledge sharing to address railway security threats effectively.
ICDO continues its collaboration with NAUSS to promote effective emergency planning, rapid responses to security incidents, and the exchange of successful international practices.
