On July 16, 2025, the Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Arguj Kalantarli, met with the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Thomas Stähli, ahead of his departure to Geneva.

During the meeting, the existing cooperation between ICDO and Switzerland, as well as matters of mutual interest, were discussed. The Secretary-General expressed gratitude to Switzerland, the host country of the ICDO headquarters, for its continuous support to the Organization, and emphasized the importance of further strengthening this cooperation in the future.

The parties also exchanged views on possible prospects for cooperation in strengthening international humanitarian mechanisms and preparedness for emergencies.
