On July 23, 2025, the Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, met with Mr. Akram Sa’ud Harahsheh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United Nations Office at Geneva and to the specialized agencies in Switzerland, at the headquarters of the ICDO.

Discussions during the meeting focused on the exchange of views on strengthening institutional cooperation between the ICDO and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Areas of mutual interest—including civil defence, capacity building, disaster risk management, and relevant regional issues, were discussed in a spirit of constructive dialogue.

The ICDO reaffirmed its readiness to support member states in enhancing national resilience through joint programs, technical cooperation, and professional training initiatives. Both sides recognized the value of sustained engagement to advance shared objectives in the field of civil protection and emergency preparedness.
