ICDO Secretary-General Visits GCC Emergency Management Centre and Maritime Rescue Center of Kuwait Fire Force

Within the framework of his official visit to the State of Kuwait, the Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, paid visits to the Emergency Management Centre of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as well as to the Maritime Rescue Center of the Kuwait Fire Force.

During his visit to the Gulf Cooperation Council Emergency Management Centre, the Secretary-General met with Brigadier General Professor Dr. Rashed Mohammed Al-Marri, Chairman of the GCC Emergency Management Centre. A comprehensive presentation of the Centre was provided, highlighting its role as a unified regional platform for emergency management across GCC Member States, as well as its core functions, mandate and principal areas of activity.

Within the framework of his visit to the Maritime Rescue Center, the Secretary-General met with Brigadier General Badr Falih Saif, Director of the Firefighting and Maritime Rescue Department, Kuwait Fire Force. On this occasion, a detailed presentation was delivered on the Center’s areas of activity, operational functions, ongoing work and capabilities, as well as potential avenues for cooperation. The importance of organizing joint training programmes and specialized courses as mutually beneficial areas of collaboration was particularly emphasized.

The meetings reaffirmed the shared interest of the parties in strengthening professional dialogue and expressed confidence in the continued development and expansion of cooperation.
