Within the framework of his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, paid a visit to Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS), where he met with the President of the University and Vice-Chairman of its Supreme Council, H.E. Dr. Abdulmajeed bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, on 25 January.
During the visit, the Secretary-General was briefed in detail on the University’s mandate, main areas of activity, and academic programmes. A comprehensive presentation was delivered, providing an overview of NAUSS’s institutional structure, educational framework, and ongoing analytical and research activities.
The discussions highlighted the important role of NAUSS in the preparation of highly qualified specialists and the development of higher education in the field of security sciences. The meeting also addressed prospects for strengthening cooperation between ICDO and NAUSS, including the exchange of experience, development of joint initiatives, and exploration of cooperation mechanisms in the fields of training and education.
Both sides exchanged views on concrete opportunities for joint programmes and identified perspectives for deepening institutional cooperation. Within the framework of the visit, the Secretary-General also toured several facilities of the University, including lecture halls and specialized centres, as well as other academic and operational units.
The meeting further included discussions on potential civil defence-related education and training programmes. The parties expressed confidence in the development of future cooperation, including the organization of joint initiatives and the strengthening of institutional partnership between ICDO and NAUSS.
