ICDO and France Exchange Views on Cooperation and Institutional Engagement

The Permanent Secretariat of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) held a meeting with the Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the current activities and priorities of the Organization, including the ongoing reform and modernization efforts being undertaken within the ICDO framework. An overview was also provided regarding the Organization’s mandate, operational activities, and initiatives aimed at strengthening international cooperation in the fields of civil protection, capacity building, and disaster risk management.

Particular attention was given to the historical role of France as one of the founding states involved in the establishment of the Organization, as well as to its observer status within the ICDO. In this regard, the importance of maintaining close dialogue and fostering constructive engagement between the Organization and France was underlined.

The discussions further focused on potential areas of cooperation and matters of mutual interest, including possible initiatives and avenues for enhanced collaboration in relevant fields.

The meeting concluded with an expression of mutual interest in further developing cooperation between the ICDO and France, including closer engagement with ongoing activities and future initiatives.
