Within the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Belarus, the Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, heading an ICDO delegation, visited the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus.
During the visit, the Secretary-General was introduced to the University's educational system, modern training facilities, and its activities in preparing emergency response professionals for both Belarus and the international community. He also visited the international training course conducted under the auspices of the ICDO on the organization and conduct of rescue operations involving electric vehicles, bringing together specialists from 11 countries.
The delegation was presented with the University's practical training facilities and innovative technologies used in emergency response. The Secretary-General highly appreciated the University's educational and technical capabilities and its valuable contribution to the professional training of civil protection specialists.
During the visit, the parties also exchanged views on further expanding cooperation between the ICDO and the University in the field of professional training and capacity-building. The Secretary-General, together with representatives of the Ministry and the University, also laid flowers at the memorial dedicated to rescuers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
