On July 4, 2023, on the sidelines of the 2nd day of work of the 7th Africa meeting, the Secretary General of the ICDO, H.E. Mariatou YAP was received in audience by the President of the Republic of Niger, H.E. MOHAMED BAZOUM. This meeting was an opportunity for the Secretary General to express his gratitude to the President of Niger for the support he provides to the civil defence services of his country.

Indeed, civil protection in Niger is one of the most dynamic in Africa. Since the beginning of 2023, Niger has hosted an ICDO training (March 2023) and the meeting which has been taking place since yesterday July 03, 2023.

In addition, Niger, which sits on the Executive Council, is a member of the Commission for the relief of arrears and the review of the amounts of contributions, the work of which took place on May 3 and 4, 2023 in Geneva.

President BAZOUM, for his part, reiterated his support for the Secretary General and considered new avenues of multilateral cooperation.

During this audience, the Secretary General of the ICDO was accompanied by Police General ALBERT NGOTO, Commander of Civil Security in Congo and Colonel Major BAKO BOUBACAR, Director General of Civil Defence of Niger.
