On 17 October 2025, the Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, held a meeting with H.E. Mrs. Davaasuren Gerelmaa, Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the ICDO and Mongolia in the areas of civil defence, disaster risk reduction, and emergency preparedness. The parties exchanged views on Mongolia’s ongoing efforts to enhance national resilience and institutional capacities in emergency response, as well as on potential avenues for collaboration within the ICDO framework.

The meeting reaffirmed mutual interest in fostering international cooperation and exploring joint capacity-building and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

In this regard, both sides agreed to continue constructive dialogue and explore practical areas of partnership aimed at enhancing preparedness, strengthening resilience, and contributing to collective efforts in protecting lives.
