The Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, participated in the Mondial Secours & Protection 2026 event of the French Firefighters, held in France, bringing together representatives of the fire and rescue community, international delegates, professional institutions and sectoral partners.
On the margins of the event, Mr. Kalantarli held a meeting with Inspector General Frédéric Tournay, Head of the European and International Relations Unit of the Directorate General for Civil Protection and Crisis Management of the French Ministry of the Interior. The meeting touched upon the activities of the ICDO, possible areas for strengthening cooperation, as well as an invitation for France’s participation as an Observer State in the forthcoming session of the ICDO General Assembly to be held in Geneva, Switzerland.
The Secretary-General further participated in the International Conference dedicated to international delegates. The conference provided an opportunity to exchange views on current developments and priorities in the field of fire and rescue services and to strengthen professional and international engagement.
As part of his participation, the Secretary-General visited the exhibition and engaged with various exhibitors and partners, exchanging views on developments in civil protection, emergency response, fire and rescue services, as well as innovative solutions and areas of mutual interest. He also attended presentations and sessions held within the framework of the event.
The Secretary-General’s participation in the event provided an opportunity to further enhance the ICDO’s engagement with international civil protection and fire and rescue institutions, as well as to exchange expertise and establish contacts with relevant partners and exhibitors.
