The Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO), Mr. Arguj Kalantarli, held a meeting with Major General Azizbek Ikramov, Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on the margins of Mondial Secours & Protection 2026 in France on 2 October 2026.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the ICDO, with particular attention to Uzbekistan’s experience and expertise in the fields of civil protection and emergency management.

The discussion also covered Uzbekistan’s status as an Observer State of the ICDO, with the invitation extended to all Observer States to participate in the forthcoming session of the ICDO General Assembly in this capacity also being highlighted.

Both sides expressed their interest in maintaining dialogue and exploring further avenues for cooperation.
