The ICDO Interim Secretary General Mr. Belkacem Elketroussi received H.E. Mr. Zenebe Kebede Korcho, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the United Nations Office in Geneva on 12 March 2020.

The meeting focused on the following lines:

• Discussion over the possibility of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia joining the membership of ICDO;
• Forms of Cooperation between the ICDO and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia concerning civil defense and disaster risk management;
• Participation of the Ethiopian National Disaster Risk Management Commission in the training programs, capacity building and the enhancement of its mechanisms for disaster prevention and crisis management;
• Extension of an official invitation to Mr. Mitiku Kassa Gutile –Commissioner of the National Disaster Risk Management Commission of Ethiopia to visit ICDO.
